Abusing My Washing Machine
The number one reason my company finds when responding to a service call for a washer is overloading. My customers get fooled by manufacturers verbiage put on the machine. Super duty, commercial technology, large capacity etc. Some of the tubs are so large a small person could fit into one. Please don't try and climb inside tub, bad ideal. But don't be fooled by the size, because what you don't see are the mechanical parts underneath and inside the machine. In years past manufacturers used metal, steel, aluminum etc. The parts now are made from plastic no all but some important parts that can be destroyed by one over sized load. If you want to avoid a service call lighten your loads. Another problem we see is customers using to much detergent. The high efficiency machines on todays market call for you to use HE detergent which is highly concentrated. That means a little goes a long way. The next time you buy a big plastic jug of detergent look on it, and if it says you should get 64 loads or what ever number of loads it has on it that is what you should get. Detergent is not a friend to your washer. So experiment with the amount of detergent to your liking and also measure the amount.
